CD Sunday - Tag You're It

I have used Pam Lefors "Always in My Heart" papers and embellishments for this weeks 8 by 8 card. The sentiment is from JS Patience Strong CD and says
Make a quiet corner in your thinking
Admitting only thoughts that heal and bless
Make a pool of silence in the turmoil
Where you can gather peace and happiness.

Thanks for coming by to my blog all the comments you leave are much appreciated.

On Our Travels with Darcy's Post Card Challenge - China

I was waiting to see a programme on tv and the previous show was on so was thinking about my postcard, as you do. I started to watch because it was about the restoration of Qianlong Garden in Beijing's Forbidden City. One of the men involved in the work traveled from his home in Anhui Province. They showed the most wonderful mountain views and these were my inspiration. I got out the brayer and had a go, it does not do justice to the original but I had fun trying. I used a big and juicy ink pad "Mountain Meadow" on glossy card stock. I added some pine and bamboo in the foreground, stamped with Stazon. The pine is a Sheena Douglas stamp and the bamboo from Kodomo Inc. I could not bear to put a bike on the picture so it is on the reverse side of the postcard this week. Below is the page in my book, work in progress, the papers are from Serif "Oriental" digi kit.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 108 - The Beach

Not sure what has happened in my crafty world but I got the paint out for this one!!!! Not my usual thing. John and I go to Hayling Island lots and there are row upon row of beach huts and of course seagulls. I wanted to try and capture the profusion of huts and colour and birds. May not have managed it but had fun. The beach hut stamp is from Crafty Individuals and was stamped with Eco paints. The birds are Chocolate Baroque and were stamped with Stazon and a bit of white acrylic added. Thank you for coming to have a look , all your comments are greatly appreciated.

On Our Travels with Darcy's Post Card Challenge - Brazil

This is such fun, after a very long ride from Austria to Spain and feeling a little saddle sore, the duo get a rest as they travel on a freight ship to Brazil. Once in Brazil what is more fun than a Carnival. My inspiration came from a digi kit from "The Studio" called Masquerade. I used the papers and elements to design the paper for the page of my book. I then created my postcard to echo the colours and style. The background is a variety of DI on glossy card. I then used a number of stamps, some embossed in gold, to build up the scene. Finally I added my face mask which I stamped on shrink plastic and my bike charm. The message to Jim ends with the confession that one of them is missing him very much.
