CD Sunday Challenge - Love is in the Air

When I saw this image I knew I had to use it for this challenge. The digi is from a very talented and generous lady called Sliekje who offers the digis she has drawn for free on her blog, see side bar for the link. I coloured the image with Promarkers and added a heart stamp. I embossed the mat with the heart embossing folder and edged it with DI and one of my new ink dusters. The background paper is from JS CD Enchanted Dreams. I added a woven ribbon to echo the rainbow, and an acetate butterfly. The sentiment was added with the Xyron design runner.

Crafty Ann's Challenge # 33 - Silver, Gold and White

I printed Ann's lovely rose, music and guitar topper onto Melt dust paper. Have had this for ages and not tried it out. I embossed with gold melt dust. Then I added silver guilding flakes to the roses. The topper is mounted on white card that has been through Tim Holtz's music folder. The whole thing was then mounted on a card covered with an already gold embossed paper from We R Memory Keepers.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 65 - Make A Statement

The saying goes "live like you will die tomorrow but garden like you will live forever" and the most permanent legacy of gardening is trees so hence my choice of statement. My background is DIs left over on my craft mat after another project, some bundled sage, worn lipstick and tumbled glass, I think. I stamped Elusive image trees all over using Aged Mahogany, then a smaller tree image from the same set which I embossed. The sentiment I typed and printed is attributed to Henderson.

CD Sunday Challenge - Waters Meet

I used Waterside Colours Summer from Debbees CD's for this beautiful iris by the water topper. Iris are one of my favourite flowers. I used two backing papers from the same CD and mounted them on cream card stock. The edging was cut with a Tim Holtz die and the flourishes with my Craft Robo. Ribbons from my stash.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 65 Fabricate It- Use Words

I used raspberry velvet backed with paper for my fabric which I used to cover the entire tag. I stamped on the velvet using Elusive Images Flora Bella stamp using a Castaway ink pad and ironing on the back of the velvet. This gave me the pale background images. Then I stamped with Versemark black in the normal way and attached beads to this image using glossy accents. The sentiment on the mini tag is by Crafty Individuals.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 136 - Highland Fling

This week over at Rainbow Lady's blog the challenge is Highland Fling, just in time for Burns's night. Do pop over and have a look.

My take on the challenge involves a sheet of Bagpipe music, some thistles and a glorious tartan dress. The dress stamp is from Stamp Happen, the thistle from Elusive images and the music from a charity shop. I stamped the dress on a tartan vellum paper printed from Sue Smith's Plaids CD. The background is stamped and coloured with DI Dusty Concorde.

The CD Sunday Challenge - Sketch

Just bought some digi stamps from Sugar Nellie and could not wait to use Grace. She is coloured with Promarkers to match the backing papers. They are from Kirsty Wiseman's Patti Picklicious CD the set called Feeling Good. I must say Kirsty's colour themed sets of papers gives me confidence to use a number of papers on one card .

Crafty Ann's Challenge # 32 - Ring in the New But Don't Ring Out The Old

My new here is Crafty Ann's Bluebell digi which I used to make my backing paper and my Derwent watercolour pencils. I had forgotten how nice it is to sit and colour and these pencils are much better quality than my old ones. I went over the colouring with a water brush. The revived skill is my alphabet stamps. I stamped over the bluebell images and coloured them before shaping the letters and covering them with glossy accents. It was a joy to make this card with thoughts of Sring, colouring as a child with my Dad and memories of walks in Bluebell Wood. Who would have thought making a card could do all that. The pleasures of our hobby.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 65 - Face The Music

I have had this stamp from Stamps Happen for a little while and only used it once so this semmed like a good moment to dust it off. It is stamped in Versafine Black and coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils. and a water brush. The edges were distressed with DI Old Paper. The photo is paler than real life! The charm face and ribbon I added from my stash.

The CD Sunday Challenge New Year - New To You

I had Seraphina's Through The Ages CD just before Christmas and this is its first outing. I think this inage is so sweet and appropriate for new! The backing paper is from the CD too. I cut out an aperture from one lace frame and mounted it raised on the same frame with the image in it. The sentiment is written with the Xyron design runner.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 64 - Impress It On

I used air drying clay for my heart, stamped with part of a panel of a stamp from I know not where. When dry the heart was rubbed with purple perfect pearls. The tag I coloured with Brilliance ink Pearlescent Lavender, then stamped with a La Blanche stamp and DI Dusty Concord followed by another La Blanche stamp around the edges . This time I stamped with Versamark and embossed with Silver pearl. Finally I distressed round the edges with Dusty Concord and added ribbon. I enjoyed working with the clay and this is one of my favourite background stamps.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 134 It's All New To Me

The first challenge of the New Year on Rainbow Lady's blog is It's All New to Me. This is my new dress stamp from Stamps Happen and I have used some techniques that are new for me to use on a card. The card background is another Stamps Happen stamp which I stamped onto an old dressmaking pattern and applied to a base card using Golden soft gel, gloss. I then distressed it with Weathered Wood and Antique Linen. I added lace and card candy and stapled three pieces of ribbon to the card. Using, for the first time, my TSV from Memory Keepers I added a row of stitching. The topper was stamped on a piece of Artylicous paper and on some blue embossed card. I cut out the dress and applied it to the stamped image. I enjoyed doing this though am a bit nervous about showing it as a member of a design team. Hope you will join us this week.
