Rainbowlady's Challenge # 116 - Sparkle and Shine

I don't usually use a lot of glitter so I went the whole hog this time. The blossom is white paste through a Dreamweaver stencil onto gloss card and before the paste was dry I sprinkled pink glitter over it. The pink mirri board was edged with a Martha Stewart punch and the card mounted to the left to leave room for the butterfly. The butterfly is an Elusive image stamp and was stamped using Versamark onto vellum. This was embossed with silver pearl embossing powder cut out and added to the blossom. Hope the sparkle and shine comes across!

DragonsdreamTIO # 52 - The Face

This stamp is one of the few faces I have at my house, my daughter loves stamps such as this and mine seem to have ended up in her collection! This lady I found in the bottom of my stamp box not even mounted on EZ mount. Pleased to say she is now and I think she has a lovely face. She is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and after being die cut into a circle was mounted onto a larger circle of Black Magic spell caster card. This was embossed and sanded to reveal the pink colour. The background paper is hand made using an Anna Griffin repeat stamp. The pink roses were added from my stash.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 115 - Paint it

Posted by PicasaMy tag was painted using Eco acrylics. The first coat was Rose which had vaseline rubbed on parts and then this was given an overcoat of Pistachio. After heating with the heat gun the vaseline parts were rubbed to reveal the pink beneath. Orchid was then painted over a flower shaped mask. The stamps are Pucinni's Muse and a quote from Creative Expressions Butterfly stamp sheet. The flowers were cut from a Sizzix die and put through the dotty embossing folder. The butterflies were cut using the punch and emboss punch from X cut. A glittery brad and matching ribbon were added.

Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog # 21 Christmas in August

For this card I used the Garland Border and Sofa digis from Crafty Ann's. I resized these in MCS Pro ( took a few goes to get it right). The scene was printed onto acetate. The sofa and garland were coloured with Promarkers and the baubles glittered. The tree from my stash was added to a piece of silver pearlised card and the acetate stuck on top. I ran the acetate through the Xyron. The Gorjuss girl was stamped onto white card, coloured with Promarkers and cut out. She was added to the scene along with the stocking from my stash. The whole was then mounted onto a clear acetate card blank and a peel off sentiment added. This is only the second time I have used digi stamps to make a card and I really enjoyed seeing it grow from an idea into the finished card, I was not sure it was going to work.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge 114 - Fairy Doors

This challenge reminded me of our family joke about a fat fairy, guess who aged 5, the girls will never let me live that photo down!

The background for this card is from Jayne Nestorenko's CD Cute Companions Vol 1. The fairy and the bee are from MCS Wings and Things. The Fairy cake was made using a Martha Stewart punch and stamp. The sentiment is mine made with the Xyron design runner. Hope you enjoy the joke.

My Dad

I decided to use my tag from Dragonsdream challenge #49 to create a scrapbook page about my late Dad and his rose growing. The highlight of his rose growing career was winning this trophy for best in show at the Whitehaven Rose Society Show. The rose was Peace, typical of Dad.
The background paper is stamped in bundled sage, to match the tag, using Elusive images rose. The text was added using the Xyron Design runner and the background 12 x 12 paper from the set of papers called Word to the Wise.

DragonsDreamTIO # 50 - On a Musical Note

Inspiration for this tag comes from my partner John who plays guitar and sax. The background colour is Distress inks Rusty Hinge and Aged Mahogany. The background image is a wooden stamp called "Keys to Music" and that was stamped randomly in Aged Mahogany. The acetate overlay is from MCS Pro The Collectors Edition Mens. The sentiment comes from page of music related quotes that I have had for a long time which I think are Kanban, and from me.

The Sunday CD Challenge - Anything Goes

The topper for this card is from Joanna Sheen's CD Victorian Companions. This is one of the first CDs of Joanna's that I bought. I mislaid it and only found it again last week, so thought it was ideal to use for this challenge. The background is stamped in black on white card using two stamps from a set bought from QVC some years ago. The set also contained the sencil I used. I matted the topper and the background paper onto orange card and mounted the whole onto a white card blank. I put the sencil through the wizard with black card then with orange vellum. I cut out both making the vellum mask smaller than the black one. I glued the masks together, added a matching ribbon, shaped the masks and attached them to the card using foam pads. I hope you like the result. Thank you for taking a look, your comments are much appreciated.

Crafty Anne's Challenge # 20 - Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer

I found this topper when I was looking through Joanna Sheen's CD Victorian Companions for another challenge and tea on the veranda while looking at the boats in the habour seemed like a lovely lazy summer's day pastime. The topper was matted onto cream pearlescent card stock. The backing paper is from the new Artylicious Essence of Nature CD. The white band was cut using a Martha Stewart punch and the butterflies were punched from white vellum using a papermania cutting and enbossing punch. The sentment was stamped onto a piece of the backing paper and also matted onto the cream card. Then all put together as shown.

DragonsDream TIO # 49 - Paper roses...

Making the roses was quite a challenge even though Lynne's tutorial was so clear. A few tries later I managed these three. I coloured them by spraying with cosmic Shimmer mist "Plum Twist". The background is Bundled Sage distress ink on a white card tag. I then stamped with a swirl background stamp again using bundled Sage. Roses always make me think of my Dad, who loved growing roses, he was always intrigued by the idea of a black rose and dark purple was as close as any of the growers came. So I added the roses then his picture from a photocopy of an old photo of him using acetone to transfer the image.
