Dragon's Dream TIO # 91 - It's A Horse's Life
I recently read War Horses and that was the inspiration for this tag. The work horses that went to the front during World War One. The background is stormy sky and I added Deco Art Perfect Paper coloured with Walnut Stain to create the feel of the mud of the trenches. The barbed wire is a TH mask with Black Soot. The writing is a genuine Love Letter from Chocolate Baroque, written in 1861 by a soldier to his wife, printed on vellum. Finally the wonderful horse is a stamp from Artemio. He is stamped in Stazon. I added a faint echo of him to represent all those other horses. It is a book for children but as you may be able to tell I was greatly moved by it. Thanks for coming by to look, all your comments are much appreciated.

Absolutely wonderful! You have captured the trench war atmosphere and it is very moving. A fitting tribute all those animals forced to take a part in war.

ReplyDeleteFantastic tag Jen, people forget about all of the animals that were involved in the wars, and it wasn't that long ago. love Elizabeth x
ReplyDeleteOh Jen, this is wonderful! I thought the horse was a cutout till I enlarged and saw it was a beautiful stamp. I love the background with the real and vintage love letter. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYour tag is so artistic. You have captured the atmosphere of the trenches so well. I think I need to read that book! A fabulous tribute to a very graceful animal. An absolutely stunning tag. Thanks for joining us again this week.
