DragonsDream TIO # 49 - Paper roses...

Making the roses was quite a challenge even though Lynne's tutorial was so clear. A few tries later I managed these three. I coloured them by spraying with cosmic Shimmer mist "Plum Twist". The background is Bundled Sage distress ink on a white card tag. I then stamped with a swirl background stamp again using bundled Sage. Roses always make me think of my Dad, who loved growing roses, he was always intrigued by the idea of a black rose and dark purple was as close as any of the growers came. So I added the roses then his picture from a photocopy of an old photo of him using acetone to transfer the image.
Thank you for taking a look, your comments are much appreciated. Posted by Picasa

  1. Jenny, this is utterly sublime. Just so beautiful and such a wonderful tribute to your Father. Well worth all your efforts.

  2. Thank you Janet. I should have said about the image transfer. I photocopied the old photo on our copier which is a black and white laser one. (When I used prints from my inkjet printer they came out green on transfer.) Once it was dry I cut out the section I wanted and put it face down on white card and rubbed the back with cooton wool dipped in nail varnish remover containing acetone. Then I rubbed quite gently with the back of a spoon and there it was.
