Crafty Ann's Challenge - Anything but a card!

I have been playing with my melt pot recently so decided to create a broach for this challenge. I die cut two flowers from patterned paper and dipped them into clear UTEE in the melt pot. The centre was also made in the melt pot. I wired a red seed bead onto a wire and dipped it repeatedly into the UTEE. I pushed the wire through the two layers of petals and wrapped it round a broach pin. I attached the pin to the back of the flowers using Glossy Accents. I find the melt pot great fun and enjoyed making something from the pieces produced.

Sunday CD Challenge - Something Sweet

I decided something sweet had to involve chocolate! This topper is from Joanna Sheen's Fashion Boutique. It is matted onto red card edged with Martha Stewart's loop punch. The sentiment and cherries are from Personal Impressions.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 120 - Tick Tock

I have made a tag to use on a scrapbooking page. The dates are important to members of the family. I covered a tag with paper then distressed it using Colour Box chalk pads wisteria and warm violet. The stamps are from Vintage Collage by TJ Designs. I added the dates and watch pieces as shown and finally Tick Tock from a Crafty Individuals stamp set.

Dragonsdream TIO #56 - Through the Window

I decided to go Oriental this week. I did not have a suitable window stamp so made my own bamboo window. The window frame is coloured with DI Bundled Sage and stamped with the same ink using Elusive images Eastern Grasses. The other stamps are from Debbie Moore. The blossom was stamped with VersaMagic Perfect Plumeria and water brushed. The woman was stamped with Versafine and her collar water brushed with the Perfect Plumeria. The window was mounted over the figure and this tag mounted on a dark red card. The ribbons were added to match the Bundled Sage.

CD Sunday Challenge - CD and Stamp

The backing paper for this challenge is from Artylicious Essence of Nature and the stamp is from Personal Impressions. The scene was stamped in Versefine Sepia and mounted on a piece of gloss card which had been brayed with Spice Big and Juicy. This in turn was mounted onto green card. The orange dew drops were added to balance the topper.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 119 - Feathers

I made an 8 by 8 card for this challenge inspired by a 12 by 12 scrapbook paper. I stamped the card base with the Clarity feather stamp and black Versafine. A 7 by 7 square of the aqua blue feather paper was matted onto silver mirror and a matching ribbon wrapped around. I raised this off the card with foam pads. I also cut a 5 by 5 square of the same paper and edged it with Martha Stewart's loop punches. The topper is a stamp from Crafty Individuals which was stamped on card using Versamark and embossed in black. I then cut the stamped image apart and matted each piece on silver mirror card. I mounted this, using foam pads, in the original square shape on the centre of the card.

DragonsdreamTIO # 55 - Bead-Dazzle

Had lots of fun making these beads in the melt pot not so much fun trying to photograph them. This is the best of a poor bunch of photos. To make the beads I wrapped a thin strip of blue paper round a wire and dipped it several times into melted clear UTEE. I joined the three beads together with leaves cut from a blue green Artylicious paper from Shades of Italy. This little spray was then attached to a tag. To make the tag I distressed a piece of satin card with distress inks, Antique Linen, Weathered Wood and Broken China. I then stamped using Broken China, a foam stamp from La Blanche. A Martha Stewart loop punch and blue green ribbon completed the tag. Think I could become addicted to making beads like this.

Crafty Ann's Sketch Challenge # 23 - Monochrome

The backing papers and topper are all from the one Crafty Ann digi, venetian mask. In MCS I turned the mask red, resized it and tiled it for backing paper 1. For the second backing paper I cropped a small square of the music in the headdress and tiled this. I used these to make the easel card adding the main topper matted on red mirror card and a smaller topper on a die cut circle of red mirror. I added three red gems, top left for balance. I find easel cards hard to photograph as they catch the light so differently but I tried.

The CD Sunday Challenge - Shades of Blue

The background paper and Kingfisher are from Joanna Sheen's Diary of an Edwardian Lady. I cut out the topper and shaped it a bit before attaching it to a square of blue textured card edged with a Martha Stewart punch. The background paper I used to cover an 8 by 8 card blank. I added a blue matching ribbon and the three gems top right.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 118 - Black White and Silver

For this challenge I had a play with the Das moulding clay I bought at Stamp Addicts. The clay was pressed onto one design on the clay squishers and cut out with two sizes of cookie cutters. I left it to dry overnight then painted the raised bits of the design with silver perfect pearls. The circles were matted onto die cut scalloped circles in silver mirror card. I stamped a peacock feather, from a stamp set called Feathers that I bought in the states from Sunday Craft, all over a piece of black card in Versanark and embossed it with clear powder. I added a dotty black ribbon then mounted the circles. This was then matted onto silver card. The black card base I stamped with the same stamp but embossed in silver. I enjoyed making this card having thought it out on a rather boring journey. Hope you like it too.

DragonsdreamTIO # 54 - Emboss it.

I have a wizard for embossing and bought this Tim Holtz folder at the retreat so thought I would try it out. The Paris logo caught my eye so I went with that as the theme. The stamps were freebies from I am not sure where and I stamped them onto tissue and used soft gel to adhere them to the embossed tag. The tag was coloured with Distress inks, worn lipstick, victorian velvet, weathered wood and broken china. The Paris logo was left white. The frame and postcard and travel sentiments are Tim Holtz dingbats. Pleased I bought this folder.

The CD Sunday Challenge # 22 - Animals

The topper and backing paper are from Joanna Sheen's Eastern Treasures CD. The topper and backing paper were both mounted onto silver mirri. A matching pink ribbon was added to the backing paper and the topper put on with foam pads. Both were then mounted, again using foam tape, onto a piece of white card which had been distressed using Bundled Sage and the edge cut with a Martha Stewart punch. The whole was then mounted on an 8 by 8 card blank. I really like this Cd and love the soft colours of this topper.

Graphicus Bling

This is the necklace we made with Lynn Robinson Hunter at the Retreat. The frame is Tim Holtz and Graphicus sell the chain and hearts as a kit. Sorry the photography isn't great. The pendant bit was made by gluing a piece of grey board on to the hole in the frame, at the back. Some people then glued the buttons etc on but Lynn's method involved sewing with wire. I made a hole in the grey board with a pokey tool and treaded through a silver wire leaving a piece at the back to fasten off later. This wire was used to sew on the buttons. A copper wire which is thinner was used in the same way to sew on the pearls. The copper flower was 3 die cuts which I shaped and stuck onto each other with a pearl glued in the middle. The butterfly was also glued on. The wires were fastened off at the back and covered with a piece of felt so that they did not catch on clothes. Jump rings were used to add the dangling chains and the hearts. Great fun to do and to wear.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 117 - Dreaming

As soon I saw this challenge I thought of our trip to New Zealand earlier this year and knew I had to scrapbook a page for the challenge. It was a lifelong dream to go there and I spent the whole holiday thinking I was dreaming. This is me standing in a grove of tree ferns! The various papers are from my stash, the ribbons from John Lewis, the stamp is Elusive Images new sentiment plate and the flag is from the trip. I enjoyed reliving the memories making this page. Thank you for this challenge.

DragonsdreamTIO # 53 - Oriental in Two Colours

Posted by PicasaJust had to use my new purchase from Elusive images for the challenge. The background is distress inks, faded jeans and weathered wood mixed with water on a craft mat and a piece of silk card swirled onto it. The waves and sentiment are stamped with faded jeans. The main image was stamped with versamagic and embossed in silver. The tag and sentiment were tied together with a piece of rafia.

Crafty Ann's Sketch Challenge # 22

The stamp used for the topper is "In Full Bloom" from Hobby Art. It was stampd once onto black card and embossed with white Seafoam powder and then onto white card with black Stazon and embossed with clear gloss powder. Concentric circles were cut using the wizard and the white circle matted onto the black circle so that the pattern matched. The background is from a sheet of double sided paper from Papermania "Touch of Teal". The black candy was added as shown.
