Dragon's Dream TIO # 74 - Tag it on the Side with Paint and Paper

Beautiful tag by Frankie this week as inspiration. I thought that I would have a play with a pot of Deco Art Paper Perfect that I bought for pence in Hobby Craft sale. I layered it on my tag, dried it and painted it with Eco paints using a brush cut down for stippling. My butterfly stamp is from The Stamp Barn and I coloured the butterflies with DI Broken China and Chipped Sapphire. The paper flowers are my new favourite technique for making paper flowers and these are made using Cosmo Cricket double sided papers. You just cut out a number of shapes, hold them together with a brad in the centre then sprits them really heavily. The layers are then pulled up and scrunched one by one. Thank you for taking a look, any comments are greatly appreciated.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 146 - At the Movies

This week's challenge is At the Movies and is sponsored by Time to Sow. I have this great photo of two of John's grandchildren watching a 3D movie so just had to do a scrapbook page for this challenge. I used an 8 by 8 page from DCWV Once Upon A Time papers. It came already glittered! The tickets are from Tim Holtz papers and the sentiment from MCS. The cinema advert I snipped from a piece of scrapbook paper in my stash. Don't you just love those glasses. Thank you for taking a look and I do hope you will jpoin in this week for a chance to be in the draw for the prize from Time to Sow.

CD Sunday Challenge - Transport

Had trouble posting, hope this pic stays put. This is another card for John. I just love this decoupage from House Mouse and it just makes us laugh, not that I ever quite ended up hanging off the bike like this, close sometimes! The backing paper is from Debbi Moore's CD Love and Romance, I chose Paris as we did a couple of bike trips there. Thank you for coming over to look, any comments you leave are greatly appreciated.

Dragon's dream TIO # 73 - Dreaming Haute Couture

Had to go back to my dream dress stamp for this challenge. The dress and the shoe stamps are from Stamp Happen and the tape measure from TJ Designs Vintage Collage. I stamped the shoe on an old dress pattern and applied the paper to the tag with Golden soft gel. I then distressed the tag with DI Dusty Concorde and this gave quite an interesting effect, I thought were the gel met the plain tag. I then stamped the tape and the dress using Stazon. I added a flower made from double sided paper from Cosmo Cricket. I used TH flower die to cut one large and 3 small flowers added a brad then spritzed it with water and lifted and scrunched the petals. Finally I added a hat pin and lace ribbon. Thank you for taking a look, any comments you leave are much appreciated.

Crafty Ann's Challenge # 37 - Inspired by an Elvis Song

As a lifelong Elvis fan I loved this challenge. I chose his Hawaiian Wedding Song as inspiration. I created the background in Serif's craft Artist, added the words and imported the picture, Crafty Ann's digi Tropical Beach. After printing I coloured the image using Promarkers. To add to the Hawaiian feel I cut out and layered the flowers from Ann's precoloured flower sheets.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 145 - Tie a Yellow Ribbon

My new ribbon borders punche, from Anna Griffin, just arrived so had to use one for this challenge. I love it already. I punched some ready embossed white card and used the same card to cut the mat with a die from Nellie's. The topper I bought years ago from Lakeland and thought her hair was just right to take a ribbon. The bp is a freebie from Lena at Scrap Elements and I used it to cut the flowers with a Sizzix die. Do go over and take a look at the other designs at Rainbow Lady's challenge blog. Hope you will join in this week for your chance to win a prize from this week's sponsor who is Stephanie of Crafting. co.uk.

CD Sunday Challenge - Wild Thing

The inspiration for this one is John and his love of Jimi Hendrix. As soon as I said the title he reminded me that it was the title of one of Jimi's most famous songs. So I found a pic of Jimi and printed it on clear adhesive backed paper which I stuck onto a blank CD. This I mounted onto a circle of deckle cut mirri. The backing paper and heart are from a MCS CD A Carousel of Classics, the 60's. I printed the sentiment using Xyron design runner. Think I will have to give it to John!

Dragon's Dream TIO # 72 - Big, Bold and Entended

Big and bold had me thinking of quilts and I decided to try to base this tag on a hexagon quilt design. This pattern is sometimes known as Grandma's flower garden so I sort of based my designs on a secret garden idea using one of Tim Holtz's big tags.

I used some patterned paper, fabric, a photo from a glorious mosaic table top in the Ashmolean museum. some alcohol inked embossed foil and stamps from Sir Tim and Caroline's texture plates. Great fun to make. Thanks for taking a look, any comments you leave are much appreciated.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge # 144 - St, Patrick's Day

This challenge, over at Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog is sponsored this week by Crafty Notions. My bp is a freebie from Bethany at Elegant Word Art. The sentiment and Irish Blessing are rub ons and the brads and ribbon are from my stash. It was nice to make a St. Patrick's Day card again as I have not made one since Dad died. This one is in memory of you Dad.

CD Sunday Challenge - Colour

Just love these brown and blue papers off HOTP so used them for the challenge, am trying not to just look at, then put away again, my favourites. I have teamed them with a topper from Dover Ladies' Flower Garden CD, a mixed bouquet of yellow flowers. I added two butterflies cut from the papers and a sentiment.
Thank you for coming along to have a look, any comments you leave are much appreciated.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 71 - Buttons and Bows

As I was using Victorian images I thought I would work in sepia tones. I used DI Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo. The stamps are from a stamp plate of Victorian Accessories except for the button which is from Jayne Nestorenko. We had a picture of the girls ' Grandma as a little girl wearing boots similar to these and I remember her telling me how hard it was to fasten them up using a button hook.

Thanks for taking a look, all your comments are greatly appreciated.

Crafty Ann's Challenge # 36 - Sketch or Spring is in the Air

For my background papers I used two of Crafty Ann's papers. In MCS I used a stencil to remove the butterfly shapes and back them with the alternative colour, pink on green and green on pink. The topper is Ann's circle frame which I coloured with an ink duster and Bundled Sage DI. The flowers were coloured with Promarkers and decoupaged. I added additional butterflies cut from the bp.

CD Sunday Challenge - Luck of the Irish/ St. Patrick's Day

I found this wonderful Irish dancer at Mo's digital pencil shop and as the song goes "sure she stole my heart away" hence my sentiment on the card. She is coloured with Promarkers and the edges of the card embossed in gold. The two backing papers come from Cameo cards Plaid & Co. CD. The sentiment is from the song and printed with the Xyron design runner, the ribbon and gold card for mounting from my stash.
I hope she makes you smile too, thank you for taking a look. Your comments are all greatly appreciated.

CDAC Challenge - cdacotc18

This is my first try at a challenge from CDAC. It is using the freebie digi from Designed2Delight stamps and Faith Skrdla. I coloured the image using Promarkers. The patterned papers are all from Kirsty Wiseman's Patti Picklicious Cd the set Summerbrooke Orchard. In addition I used green card stock from my stash for mounting. I am hoping I will be able to post this onto the site but I am not sure. Regardless it was fun to do. Thank you for taking a look, any comments you leave are much appreciated.

Dragon's dream TIO # 70 - Delicate

So enjoyed playing at combining these techniques as shown in the video Frankie pointed us to. I now have several background pieces I can over stamp but finally was happy that this fitted the bill of being delicate. The stamps I used are Marion Emberson's Love Story script, Herto Art's Large delicate woven fabric and Hobby Art's In Full Bloom.
Hope you like it, thank you for taking a look, all your comments are greatly appreciated.

This week's challenge over at Rainbow Lady's challenge blog is sponsored by Joanna Sheen, so for your chance to win a voucher pop over to the blog and consider entering this week. My topper and backing paper are from JS Enchanted Dreams CD. I think this is such a beautiful image. I did glitter the man's mask on the bp but it does not really show up in the photo. I also stamped a row of masks in a matching colour to the dress and added a pearl. This stamp I also used for the cut out mask and it is from Avec.
Do hope you will join us this week.
