This is the result of a fabulous weekend spent on the Elements 2 course at Paddy's. Most of what we did was new to me so I am thrilled with my finished project. I stepped outside of my safe colours and went for it with red and yellow.
We started with a blank rectangle of white cotton, stamped on it in white pearl with Stamendous big stamps. I chose the Peony. Then the fabric was misted with water and on went the paint using a sponge. A scarey moment! Once it was dry we overstamped in our paint colours and gold.
We went off to do individual techniques for the various components.
My favourite being the felting. I did two panels while we were there and the flower today at home.
We used Polymer clay to make the beads and the cone for the bottom of the hanger. The frame was covered with metal foil which was first embossed in an embossing folder then painted and embossed with clear ep. Finally we cut the inital piece of fabric and framed one piece after embroidering and embelishing it. That is as far as I got on Sunday so have since completed the lower half of the fabric and attached it to the underside of the frame. By a stroke of luck I bought some of the sari ribbon at Ally Pally which was just what was needed to make the tassel and the hanger.
Gosh never done such a long post. Thank you for looking, well done if you got this far! Any comments you leave will be much appreciated.
