On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge.

I was really taken with this statue and had to find out who he was. He was called Thorfinn Karlsefni and he was an explorer. I have set a picture of his statue against a backdrop of the Northern Lights and invented a shield for him. The shield is made from embossed metal and I added some colour with alcohol inks. My page is made up of a recent photo of volcanic activity on the island and a page from an old manuscript telling one of the many Icelandic sagas. Thanks for stopping by, you are so kind with your comments.

The page is gorgeous too! I might have to look for some Iceland-sagas... Really didn't know about them, thought that was all Ireland... :)

  8. His name reminded me of the names from the Hobbit! He cuts quite a dashing figure against the Northern lights and your shield is great!
