On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Romania

Reading about Romania I was fascinated with the stories of the white storks, the origin of the baby bringing stork stories. There is a big project underway to save them as lots are being killed because they are nesting atop of electricity pylons and then getting electrocuted. I found a picture of them and played about with it in Serif's Photolab before printing it and added some colour with Promarkers.
My page background is some of the earliest Romanian writing with the shield of Romania and a picture shaped like a map of the country showing some of the sites. The pocket shows the beautiful Romanian red peony, actually a first day cover when they made a stamp showing the peony.

  11. Fantastic research! I really love your card. We just had a situation here in NH where they had to relocate some birds that nested on a utility pole.
