On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Argentina

Just had to be the Tango this week. I used a digi stamp from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps on top of a background I created in Craft Artist 2. I added some additional music stamps and words from Prima stamps. I found a postage stamp featuring Eva Peron  and my page is views of the countryside.
Do check out fellow travelers here.

CD Sunday Challenge - Inspired by Nature

My card this week is A5 and the backing paper and topper is from Peerless Designs CD "Feathered Friends". I used CA2 to add some foliage and a hessian mat and mount the whole on brown card stock.
Thank you for taking a look and for all your comments.

Crafty Ann's Challenge #79 - Birds

A 12 by 12 scrapbook page for this challenge using a photo taken on holiday in Cornwall and Crafty Ann's digi kit Tempting Turquiose. The papers were a lovely match for the feathers.
Do join us over at Crafty Ann's Challenge blog and let us see your birds or animals.

On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Jamaica

After seeing so many beautiful sunsets pictures as I researched Jamaica I had a go at making my own. I used Distress Stains for the background and stamps from Stampscape for the images. I was really pleased to find a stamp of the famous toboggan team for the back. My page shows the flag, one of those sunsets and two famous Jamaicans.
The pocket is what I think is a wonderful painting by the Jamaican painter Barrington Watson called  "Dance of the Maroons". The Maroons are descended from runaway slaves. They established communities in the interior of Jamaica. A vibrant community continues to this day and this painting depicts a dance as part of a celebration.

CD Sunday Challenge - Layer it Up

I have made a 6 by 6 card with papers from Kirsty Wiseman's Picklicious CD and toppers from a Lili of the Valley sheet. I was having a bit of a tidy up in the craft room and found lots of previously printed sheets and thought I would reduce the pile by trying to use some of them for this challenge. Thought the colours from two different sources actually went quite well together.I added a button from my stash and a twirl of Tim Holtz's paper.
Thank you for taking a look, all your comments are so encouraging.

On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Tibet

When I think of Tibet mountains and images of prayer flags fluttering in the wind come to mind, so that is what I have done for my postcard.
On my page I have an image of the mosque at Lhasa, a dancer dressed for the ceremonial Cham dance and yaks also dressed for a special day. My pocket is an image of the Snow Lion. This image forms part of the flag of Tibet now banned by the Chinese government. It has become a symbol for exile Tibetans. My stamp depicts the Dali Lama and was issued by Hawaii to celebrate his recent visit there.

CD Sunday Challenge - Rainy Days

A real challenge for me this week. My daughter bought me a Bamboo drawing tablet for my birthday so I had a go at colouring digitally with it. The image is from Arthur's clip art and I used it in CA2 with Serif Cd Backyard Bumper. It was fun trying to colour but I need a lot more practice I think. Thanks for stopping by to look. Any comments are much appreciated.

On Our Travels With Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Monaco

Could not resist using a photograph of Grace Kelly, which I played around with in Photolab. She was the fairy tale princess when I was young. On my page I have the arms of Monaco, a view of the famous habour and a scene from the F1 race. I found lots of images of beautiful flower stamps for Monaco, so added those too. Do take a look at the postcards of my fellow travelers here on Darcy's Blog.

CD Sunday Challenge - Christmas in Pink

A challenge indeed as I would not normally chose pink for Christmas. I used the CD "Season of Giving" from Serif and worked in Craft Artist 2 to make a square card.
Thank you for stopping by to take a look, all your comments are much appreciated.

On Our Travels With Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Slovenia

The capital of Slovenia is Ljubljana, a city next to the river on which Jason and his Argonauts are said to have sailed with the Golden Fleece. Hence my postcard. The picture is a bookplate from a version of the story by Graves which I played with in Craft Artist, then printed and gilded. My book page shows the flag and some of the varied scenery to be found in Slovenia.
