Crafty Ann's Challenge # 73 - Turquoise/Aqua

This is a 6 by 6 card which I designed in Craft artist. The papers and embellishments are all from Crafty Ann's Tempting Turquoise kit. I had a play with using an overlay as a mask and thought the effect was very soft and a suitable background for the tag.
Do have a look at Crafty Ann's challenge blog to see the lovely designs from the rest of the design team and why not join in this time.

On Our Travels With Darcy,s Postcard Challenge - Hungary

Once upon a time I used to do a lot of embroidery and was blown away by the folk art style I found when researching Hungary. So my postcard is in the style of... I found a big embroidery pattern and copied part of it then coloured it using Promarkers. The national flower is the red tulip so they feature. My page shows some examples of the real thing, so beautiful I thought.
Congratulations to all of you still travelling, the postcards are so varied and wonderful Thank you Darcy for organising this each week.

CD Sunday - Game On

Gone digital this week with a an A5 card created in Craft Artist using a kit by Digilicious called appropriately enough "Get Your Game On". Thought this would be a good card for the next birthday of a 10 year old boy I know.
Thanks for looking and for your kind comments.

On Our Travels With Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Japan

I love Japanese flower arranging and the paintings that depict the wonderful blossom and flower blooms so that is my theme  for my postcard. I stamped the blossom with Versamark and applied pan pastels, then over stamped with my flower arrangement. These stamps are from Habico and Debbie Moore. The book page is cut from a 12 by 12 scrapbook paper and the pocket is another stamp
of Koi carp from Chocolate Baroque. I used the same technique using pan pastels to create the scene.
Looking forward to seeing what my fellow travelers come up with this week, such a talented bunch. Catch them here.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 123 -It's Art for Art's Sake

I felt inspired by this title and the stamp quote. I have more than one friend who has come to Art and Craft a bit broken and found peace, healing and JOY. So my tag is a celebration of crafting.

I brayered the background using Big and Juicy "Soothing Sunset" then stamped the squares with the same ink pad. The stamp is from Hero Arts "Super solids backgrounds". I cut the flowers from text paper brayered with the same colour. The ladies are squares cut from one bigger stamp from Hampton Art "Place the Face". My quote stamp is also from Hampton Art.
Thank you for stopping by, any comments you leave are much appreciated.

A dark tag this time for a dark theme. I worked on black paper using two colours of black embossing powder when stamping and ended up with three quite different blacks. The stamps are from Clarity and Impression Obsession. The face and crows I made from air dry clay in moulds I bought at my local cake shop.

CD Sunday Challenge - Exotic Birds and Blooms

My CD is Joanna Sheen's Eastern treasures. Each time I look at this CD I find something beautiful I have missed before. I used a topper, matted onto black card, and two of the matching backing papers. One I cut using Tim Holtz's Doily Die, I thought it echoed the fruit.
Thank you for taking a looks all your comments are appreciated so much.

On Our Travels With Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Malta

I have never visited Malta but remember a lady at church from there who always wore a beautiful black mantilla made of Maltese lace. So have chosen lace as my theme for Malta. The postcard has two samples of lace which I stamped, the stamps are from Anna Griffin, and a piece of real lace down the left.
My page shows one of the many beautiful harbours and the pocket a piece of lace depicting The Maltese Cross and a pillow on which the lace is made.
Do check out the wonderful postcards from the other travellers at Art and Sole.

On Our Travels With Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Denmark

My first ever trip on an airplane was in 1969 when with a small group of fellow students I went to Denmark for a week to study their education system. This is the postcard I sent home to my Mum and Dad!
Open sandwiches were obviously a new one on me!
Many memories this week, as I child I loved Fairy Stories and so loved visiting The Little Mermaid statue when in Copenhagen. So my postcard for this week is a mermaid. The stamp is from Clarity stamps and her scales are made with Stickles.
My page also is a tribute to Hans Christian Andersen and the photos on the page are my originals from that trip.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane Darcy.
To see the other travellers' postcards go to Art and Sole.
