On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge - United States of America

As a person who would love to go into space and stayed up all night to watch the landing on the moon, even though I had to be at work at 6 a.m. the next morning, I just had to do the moon shot for my postcard. The girls and I had a memorable visit to the space centre in Washington in the early 80's and I can still remember the excitement of touching something that had been on the moon. So my card is a photograph that I altered in Craft Artist. My page was also made in Craft Artist using a digikit made by Digilicious "Red White and Blue".
This journey round the world is challenging but great fun. To see the work of the other travellers look here.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 119 - Don't Fear

My scary image is a photograph I took on a recent visit to Basel. It is a bronze in the Minster there. I used cut out studio in Craft Artist to remove the background of the photo and replaced it with a purple background. I cut the tag from this and added texture with a mask and Inky Black mister from Huey. I stamped my sprite twice once in I embossed with a Wow embossing powder to get an ethereal image, bottom right, and the other I embossed with Seafoam white. I can not remember where I bought the stamp unfortunately.

CD Sunday Challenge - Sketch

I have used the sketch to make a wedding card, requested by a friend. The topper and its mount are from Cameo cards way back when and I teamed it with paper from the Artylicious CD "Damask Delights". I added a strip of punched gold mirri card, some gold ribbon and pearls. Thank you for stopping by, all your comments are greatly appreciated.

Crafty Ann's Challenge #68 - Memories are Made of This

I used Crafty Ann's "Tempting Turquoise" kit and Add on pack to create my memories of New Zealand  12 by 12 scrapbook page. John and I spent a month there in 2010 and loved every minute of it. The views were spectacular. This is one of them. I created the page in Craft Artist. I used one photo of me, taking a photo, blended into one of the Tempting Turquoise pages to form the background. The lovely delicate vellum corner and frame are part of the digikit.
Do have a look at the memories of the rest of the design Team here and join in and let us see what your memories are made of.

On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Australia

This week for the first time two of the three friends are travelling not together.
My Australia postcard was started in Serif's Craft Artist then through a mask I stamped the collage of Australia onto the map. The stamp is from Papermania. On my page the view is Uluru, Ayers Rock and I added a kangaroo and a Mimosa flower. This was my one of my Mum's favourite flowers, though she never travelled to Australia. My pocket is of course the flag.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 118 - Industrial Chic

I created the background for my tag in Craft Artist using a digikit from Sweet Madeline called "Flutterby Time". I used white acrylic to create an area for my stamp which is from Avant- Garde #1 by A Stamp in the Hand Co. The tag is distressed with DI Vintage Photo and I added three cogs and a chain from Tim Holtz.

On Our travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Italy

Have been to Italy but not to Venice so as a substitute I chose Venice for my postcard. The stamp is form Dark Room Door and I coloured the image with Pan Pastels. I masked it and over stamped with a map from Impression Obsession which I embossed with gold embossing powder. The word is a rub on. My page is a collection of images from Crafty Individuals layered on papers from Artylicious.  The Rome paper is from I don't remember where, it is a lovely dull gold but this does not show up well on the photo.  Do take a look at the work of my wonderfully talented  fellow travelers here.

CD Sunday - Beautiful Ballerinas

My card front was created in Craft Artist using digikit "Allegro" by Digilicous from Studio Designs. The topper is from Joanne Sheen's CD Enchanted Dreams. We saw Snow White, the ballet, at Christmas and Snow White's mother descended from the sky to dance with her in a very beautiful and moving scene. That was my inspiration for this card. Thank you for coming by to look, all your comments are greatly appreciated.

Dragon's Dream TIO # 117 - To Dye For

I stamped my tag with an Urban stamps background stamp then embossed it with an X Cut folder. I sprayed it with Cosmic Shimmer "Blue Lime". My die cuts are Tim Holtz leaves cut from an old book, then dry embossed and coloured with Pan Pastels. The little birds are a Martha Stewart punch. Impossible for me to photograph the shimmer I'm afraid.
Thank you for coming by to have a look. All you comments are much appreciated.

Crafty Ann's Challenge #67 - It's a Girl Thing

The challenge over at Crafty Ann's this week is one for the girls, so do have a look at her challenge blog and show us your feminine side.
I have used Crafty Ann's lovely "Polished Stone" papers in three colours. I cut a background using a punch all over the page punch from Martha Stewart from a green paper and mounted it over a piece of the pink paper. I cut two strips of paper one in blue and one in the pink and scored them with the Hougie board to make the rosettes. I edged them with a Martha Stewart border pinch before folding. The card base is a pale green A5 card. I added a ribbon, sentiment and rose from Anna Griffin.

On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Poland

One of my all time favourite composers is Chopin. I love his Nocturns, especially as played by Vladimir Ahskenazy.  So he was an obvious choice for my postcard from Poland as that is where he was born. The card consists of Chopin's portrait called golden Chopin by Saltyshadow, here, a copy of his signature and a quote from him. My page a map with a picture of Warminski castle and The Narewka in the Bialowieza Forest.
The pocket is the capital Warsaw.

CD Sunday - Gorgeous Green

My square card depicts a flower I keep trying, unsuccessfully, to grow Lily of the Valley . The image and backing papers are from Joanna Sheen CD" Floral fantasy". I guess I will have to make do with crafting with this lovely bloom. Thank you for stopping by to look. All your comments are much appreciated.

On Our Travels with Darcy's Postcard Challenge - Thailand

I based my postcard this week on these two views of Pattaya. For my card background I used Pan Pastels and stamped in Stazon with a selection of stamps from Stampscapes Inc. I was suprised to learn that the King is the longest serving monarch in the world, coming to the thorn in 1946. The stamp I used was issued to celebrate his 50yrs on the throne.
For my page I used a background of Thai silk, gorgeous stuff, back in the day I once ordered some and made myself some underwear. I loved the straw hats that I used to create my pocket.
Such a colourful country to visit this week. Do take a look at the postcatds of the fellow travellers here. Jen x
